- <p>The safe use of intravitreal medications remains a constant concern in the medical field, particularly in the treatment of chronic ocular diseases. Among these treatments, EYLEA® (aflibercept) has demonstrated high efficacy and safety, becoming a key therapeutic option in ophthalmology, especially for retinal conditions.</p> <p>However, recent reports of potential cases of endophthalmitis associated with certain batches of the medication have raised questions about its safety profile. While no direct link to the active ingredient has been established, the concern has prompted an analysis of the available evidence, a review of relevant background information, and an evaluation of the measures taken by regulatory agencies and manufacturers to ensure patient safety. This communication presents the current evidence regarding this potential association.</p>
