-
This dataset contains behavioral data from a cross-sectional study examining situational and dispositional empathy in individuals with Parkinson’s disease (PD) and age-matched healthy controls. The goal of the study was to assess differences in empathy-related processes and cognitive performance, particularly as a function of cognitive impairment in PD.

A total of 103 participants were included:

31 cognitively preserved PD patients

39 cognitively impaired PD patients

33 age-matched healthy controls

Participants completed a comprehensive battery including neuropsychological assessments and empathy measures. Dispositional empathy was assessed via validated self-report instruments (e.g., Interpersonal Reactivity Index – IRI), while situational empathy was evaluated using performance-based tasks involving emotionally salient scenarios.

The dataset includes:

Group classification (PD-cognitively preserved, PD-cognitively impaired, Control)

Demographic data (age, gender, education level)

Cognitive task scores

Dispositional empathy subscales (e.g., Perspective Taking, Empathic Concern)

Situational empathy task responses

Data format: SPSS (.sav)
Language: Spanish (all variable names and labels are in Spanish)

The data are fully anonymized and formatted for reuse. This resource may be of interest to researchers in psychology, neuroscience, gerontology, and social cognition studying empathy and neurodegenerative diseases.
