-
This study investigated the relationship between learning styles, listening proficiency level, and intensity of watching YouTube videos of students. The researcher employed a quantitative and correlational method. To investigate the listening proficiency level and learning styles of students, IELTS listening sample test was used. To gain more insight into students’ practice of watching YouTube videos, a quantitative questionnaire (Likert Scale) comprised of five questions was distributed among the students. A sample of a hundred students was randomly selected to collect data. The correlation between the variables was analyzed by using SPSS and the correlation was found. The results of the study depict that there is a positive correlation between students’ intensity of watching YouTube videos. However, there is a negative correlation between the learning styles of students and the intensity of watching YouTube Videos with insignificant p-value. The study recommends further investigation using different variables such as students' self-directed learning habits, the influence of guided YouTube usage, motivation, and access to technology. These elements could provide further light on the best ways to use multimedia platforms like YouTube for language learning.
