- <p><span>This article builds on the theory of causal collapse, which has been comprehensively presented in previous studies (Stegemann 2025a, 2025b). The aim is to expand the structural model developed there to include a systematic differentiation of mental states and an empirically connectable operationalization. Consciousness is not understood as a static state, but as an emergent mode of transition within a dynamic functional space.</span></p>
