-
Urban livability is an emerging issue in fast-urbanizing communities whose development tends to neglect sustainability and quality of life. Barangay 7, the biggest barangay in the urban center of Lipa City, is burdened with very serious issues arising from the lack of accessible green and public spaces. This study examines the strategic integration of these spaces in an effort to ensure maximum livability in aspects related to social wellbeing, environmental integrity, and economic prosperity. This study utilized the mixed-method approach where both qualitative and quantitative information was obtained from surveys, interviews, meetings, and secondary materials. Evidence shows that well-designed green areas have a significant influence on mental and physical health, increase environmental awareness, and foster increased community engagement. Green infrastructure financially contributes to entrepreneurial activities, ecotourism, and environmental jobs. The project corresponds to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (2015–2030) by strengthening Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities through resilient and inclusive urbanization. It backs Goal 13: Climate Action through climate-resilient design such as eco-infrastructure, and fosters Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth through economic opportunities created in dynamic public spaces. The outcomes inform a strategic planning strategy that can assist in directing urban policy and development and setting Barangay 7 as a model for livable and sustainable urban transformation.

Keywords: Urban Livability, Public and Green Space Integration, Mixed-Methods Research, Strategic Urban Planning, Philippines-Barangay 7, Lipa City
