•
Introduction: since in the social sciences and humanities the verification of the result of the study involves substantial subjective assessment, an open demonstration of belonging (adherence) to a particular scientific school implies the emergence of additional risks at the stage of awarding a degree.
Purpose: to represent practical advice for degree candidates, working on the development of ideas of a particular scientific school.
Results: the results revealed the criteria of formation of scientific schools: primary (continuity) and additional attributes (subjective, institutional, personal, practical, methodological). Practical guidelines to the candidates for academic degrees are covered: (1) the topic name must not contain the author's conceptual apparatus proposed in recent studies; (2) the development of the ideas of the scientific school should be coverage of concepts proposed by other authors and groups; (3) scientific research should not lead to indiscriminate criticism of certain concepts; (4) the choice of the topic and theses to be defended must be associated with specific Dissertation Council; (5) for doctoral theses the use in the structure of the provisions submitted for protection, direct instruction on the development of the study of the achievements of the scientific school is inappropriate.
Conclusions: the study on the basis of a particular doctrine is justified. Observation of any object of complex configuration from different perspectives leads to differing perception of observers. Post-processing of collected and sometimes pre-aggregated data allows you to create a more complete picture of reality.
