  • <p><span lang="EN-US">Participation in industry training or internships plays a crucial role in equipping students with practical, real-world experience and essential professional skills, ultimately preparing them for success in their chosen career paths. Recognizing the need to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry demands, this study focused on the development of a web-based internship recommendation and performance management system designed to streamline the process of matching student interns with suitable Host Training Establishments (HTEs) and to enable effective monitoring of intern performance by students, faculty, and industry partners. The system employs an intelligent recommendation mechanism that evaluates students' skills, competencies, and academic performance to suggest the most appropriate HTEs for their internship placements. Its design and development were guided by the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to assess user acceptance and interaction, and the Fourth Generation Techniques (4GT) software development methodology to ensure rapid and structured development. To measure the system’s quality and effectiveness, the study adhered to the ISO/IEC 25010:2011 standard, a globally recognized model for software product quality evaluation, and conducted a structured survey via Google Forms involving 24 student interns, four HTEs, and three Information Technology (IT) professionals. The findings revealed high levels of system acceptability across key quality attributes such as functional suitability, performance efficiency, reliability, usability, and security, with a weighted mean of 4.8, while IT professionals rated the system’s effectiveness in enhancing product quality characteristics with a weighted mean of 4.7, indicating its strong potential to elevate the overall quality and management of internship programs. Furthermore, the system encourages transparency and accountability in internship monitoring, giving stakeholders access to real-time updates and performance metrics. It also reduces administrative workload and minimizes manual errors through automation, allowing academic institutions to allocate resources more efficiently. In the long term, this platform can be adapted and scaled for use by other colleges and universities, making it a sustainable solution to internship management challenges. In conclusion, the developed web-based platform offers a robust and efficient solution to the challenges associated with internship coordination and monitoring at Marinduque State College - College of Information and Computing Sciences (MSC-CICS), optimizing the student internship experience and fostering stronger collaboration between academia and industry to produce highly skilled and job-ready graduates.</span></p>
