Podcasts, on the other hand, are online audio publicationst hat can be downloaded and listened to on portable devices like smartphones, laptops, and tablets. Therefore, the researchers attempted to understand the attitudes of EFL teachers and students towards podcasts as an instructional material to enhance students' listening skills. This study aimed to explore the attitudes and perceptions of both EFL teachers and students towards the use of podcasts as instructional material to enhance students' listening skills. To carry out this study, a qualitative approach was selected, employing two distinct questionnaires. One questionnaire was administered to a sample of thirty-nine (39) third-year EFL students at the Department of English Language, University of Relizane, to understand their perceptions, and attitudes towards using podcasts for listening skill development. A separate questionnaire was administered to a sample of ten (10) EFL teachers from the same department to explore their perceptions of the pedagogical value of podcasts, their attitudes towards their use in language instruction, and their insights into the benefits and challenges of podcast integration. The findings revealed a generally positive attitude among both students and teachers towards the potential of podcasts for listening enhancement. Based on these findings, several recommendations are proposed to EFL teachers to assists in effectively utilizing podcasts in the EFL classrooms.</p> <p>Keywords: Podcasts, Listening, EFL students, EFL teachers, Attitudes.</p> |
