It investigates the impact of pet-related activities on children’s mathematical achievement, especially in measurement, comparison, and analysis, which are essential for developing mathematical skills. This study explores the impact of pet ownership on the development of basic cognitive skills that support early childhood mathematics learning, including imagination, concentration, fine motor skills, and responsibility. It investigates the impact of pet-related activities on children’s mathematical achievement, especially in measurement, comparison, and analysis, which are essential for developing mathematical skills. The study included 60 children aged 4 to 6 years from Arab schools in the Galilee region of Israel. They were divided into two groups: an experimental group that owned pets, and a control group that did not. The study lasted for six months and used academic assessments, parent questionnaires, teacher interviews, and direct observations. The results showed that children in the experimental group demonstrated significant improvement in basic mathematical skills, especially in the concepts of measurement and comparison, due to daily interaction with pets. This study highlights the potential of integrating pet-related activities into educational curricula to enhance children's academic and cognitive development through hands-on learning experiences.
