Shrubs, meadows and tundra.</p><p><b>Distribution</b></p><p>Finland: Ta, Oa, Sb, Kb, Ok, Obu, Ks, Le; northern Sweden (Tyler 2010 b), northern European Russia (Sennikov 2006 c).</p><p><b>Notes</b></p><p>This species was reported from Russia (Novgorod and Tver Region) as a variant of <i>Hieracium chloromaurum</i> with shorter glandular hairs on phyllaries and synflorescence branches (Sennikov 2006 c).</p><p><b>Diagnosis</b></p><p>Stems 30–40 cm tall. Rosulate leaves oblong-elliptic to lanceolate-elliptic, base subrotund, broadly cuneate to cuneate, apex obtuse, with indistinct teeth, thin, grass-green, with dense simple hairs ca. 0.5 mm above, on short petioles. Cauline leaf single, similar, reduced in size. Phyllaries narrowly triangular, with acute apex, 9–10 mm long, grey-green, without simple hairs, with very dense glandular hairs 0.5–0.8 (1) mm long and sparse stellate hairs throughout, apex without ciliae. Synflorescence branches without simple hairs, with rather dense glandular hairs 0.5–0.6 mm long and stellate hairs. Styles with black papillae. Ligules glabrous.</p> |
