| contents | <p>Dental and oral health has an effect on general body health and vice versa, body health will affect dental and oral health, including speech function, chewing and self-confidence. Dental and oral health disorders will affect a person's performance in meeting daily living needs. Strawberries, one of the chemical contents of the fruit, is Flavonoid. The active substance flavonoids are compounds that have antibacterial activity that are thought to be able to damage bacterial cell walls so that they can inhibit plaque growth. Other contents in flavonoids are salicylic acid, ellagic acid, catechin and Anthocyanin. Catechin has the ability to reduce the formation of dental plaque which is mainly caused by Streptococcus Mutans. This PkM program aims to provide knowledge to partners about the benefits of strawberries through the application of strawberry extract in an effort to inhibit thegrowth of dental plaque. The target of this program is Elementary School students in Jorong Ampang Gadang, Ampek Angkek District, Agam Regency.</p> |
