While the focus is on the mechanics community, the presentation adopts a general perspective and addresses various aspects of the publishing landscape, including publication models, open access, publishers, bibliometric indicators, research assessment, publication trends, transformative agreements, and more.</div> <br> <div>The slides also include an analysis of a <a href="https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.15843566">survey</a> conducted among participants of the European Solid Mechanics Conference (ESMC) held in Lyon, France, in July 2025. Additionally, the presentation features extracts from interviews conducted by Vladislav Yastrebov with Anna Pandolfi, Samuel Forest, David Rodney, and Alexander Popp - scientists actively involved in publishing as editors.</div> <br> <div>This presentation was delivered as a plenary talk by Vladislav Yastrebov and Maurine Montagnat on 9 July 2025 at ESMC 2025, following an invitation from the conference chairmen, Eric Maire and Samuel Forest. The version of the slides shared here has been slightly extended and corrected.</div> </div> |
