Issues such as repetitive strain injuries (RSI), lack of support for users with physical disabilities, and inefficiencies in sterile or space-constrained environments highlight the urgent need for a more intuitive, inclusive, and ergonomic input device. The Fingerband Mouse introduces a transformative solution to these challenges by replacing the conventional mouse with a sensor-equipped armband that translates natural hand and finger gestures into digital commands. The device offers high-precision control, customizable gestures, and wireless connectivity by utilising advanced motion detection technologies such as accelerometers, gyroscopes, and magnetometers. The device provides a hands-free and seamless human-computer interaction experience. Its design prioritises comfort, adaptability, and battery efficiency, supported by intelligent learning algorithms for personalised use. The device shows significant potential for commercialisation, particularly in healthcare, gaming, virtual reality, and office productivity markets. It enhances accessibility for disabled users, promotes sterility in clinical environments, improves creative control for professionals, and delivers immersive experiences for gamers. Currently in the prototype phase, the Fingerband Mouse is undergoing optimisation and testing, with promising prospects for mass production and market entry. By redefining how users interact with digital systems, this innovation exemplifies the convergence of technology management and human-centred design, offering a scalable, inclusive, and futuristic solution to modern computing challenges.
