- <p>This research highlights the problem of selective justice in Nigeria, and how <br>social standing, political power, and socio-economic value determine the <br>likeliness of getting penalized for a crime. Selective treatment of some <br>individuals or groups in legal proceedings is a common concern as it <br>undermines fairness and equality in the legal system in Nigeria. The analysis <br>elaborates on how the rich and politically influential tend to escape the <br>criminal justice system while the disgraced, poor, and weak bear the worst <br>suffering under an unjust legal framework. </p>
