-

The datasets comprise high-resolution RGB orthomosaics captured by an unoccupied aerial vehicle (UAV), containing only forest floor information from Jenaer Forst, Germany.

The UAV RGB imagery was acquired using a DJI Phantom 4 Pro on March 10, 2022. A real-time kinematic (RTK) sensor, in combination with the SAPOS positioning service, was used to georeference the data. The RGB images were processed using a Structure-from-Motion (SfM) workflow implemented in the software Agisoft Metashape (see processing report for more details).

Four different camera exposure settings were used in four separate flights over the same area. The exposure values (EV) applied were -3, -1, +1, +3, representing a range from underexposure to overexposure.

The resulting SfM point cloud was terrain-normalized and filtered using rapidlasso LASTools. Only points with heights between -0.5 m and 5.0 m were rasterized with a pixel size of 5 cm to generate the ground orthomosaic (EPSG: 25832).
