•
The contemporary Tamil literary scenario demonstrates remarkable expansion in creative and scholarly domains with meaningful contributions of intellectual thought. Intellectual ideas are embodied in the works of Tamilachi Thangapandian. She is an eminent Tamil poet whose poetry elevates the imagery of land and moonlight with social issues through a sociological perspective. Her poetry explores the relationship between literature and familial systems, religion, education, legal and economic state. This study reveals the ideals that evolve with social values, normative conflicts, and current ideological struggles. It is particularly focused on feminist resistance against patriarchal systems. This study extends a rich tradition of Tamil women’s literary expression that spans from the ancient Sangam poet Auvai to contemporary feminist voices challenging gender hierarchies. Feminism is not an abstract theoretical construct but an active movement that seeks to dismantle women’s subjugation from moderate reform to radical transformation. Tamilachi Thangapandian’s poetic collections illustrate these dimensions by keeping together ecological feminism through natural symbolism, professional marginalisation and gender-psychological oppression. Her works highlight the cultural distinctiveness of Tamil feminist poetry and its enrichment of feminist discourses. Hence, this article brings down an artistic expression and sociopolitical commentary from Tamilachi Thangapandian’s poetry as a vital force for cultural conservation and progressive social change.
