| contents |
Individuals living in impoverished rural and remote communities often face substantial barriers to accessing professional healthcare services. A key obstacle is the lack of reliable transportation to urban areas where clinics and hospitals are typically concentrated (Syed et al., 2013). This issue is particularly critical for women, especially those who are pregnant, as access to specialized prenatal care is essential for maintaining maternal and fetal health. Routine checkups enable early detection of complications, such as congenital anomalies, which are more effectively managed when identified early in pregnancy (Mohseni et al., 2023). Without adequate transportation, expectant mothers in underserved areas are at increased risk of adverse health outcomes. Globally, this represents a significant public health concern, as millions of women are unable to receive essential prenatal care. The resulting complications place additional strain on already burdened healthcare systems (Mohseni et al., 2023). Addressing transportation-related barriers is vital to improving maternal health and reducing preventable disparities.
|
