| contents | <p>This paper presents a novel, two-step methodology for identifying and utilising resources to solve business problems and achieve strategic goals, moving beyond traditional TRIZ-based approaches. While conventional methods focus on finding an existing "X-element" resource within a system, this work proposes an alternative path: first, to define the ideal <em>property</em> a resource must possess to solve the task, and second, to systematically search for or create a resource that embodies this property.</p> <p>To facilitate this process, the paper introduces two new tools: a comprehensive "Business Resource Properties Catalogue" detailing 50 fundamental characteristics, and a "Business Resource Group Catalogue" that structures the search for resources across 20 distinct categories. The methodology is visualised using the "Ideality Quadrant," a tool for evaluating generated solutions based on their cost and effectiveness.</p> <p>The methodology was tested on a real-world case involving a private cardiology centre aiming to increase patient occupancy. The application demonstrated the method's effectiveness in identifying hidden and even "harmful" resources to achieve the business goal. The paper details the 7-step application process, from defining the business goal to evaluating ideas in the Ideality Quadrant. It also candidly discusses limitations discovered during the practical application, such as the challenge of overcoming client psychological inertia and difficulties in financial cost assessment, and outlines specific plans for the method's future improvement.</p> |
