contents <p><strong><span lang="EN-US">Abstract</span></strong></p> <p><span lang="EN-US">Methods for constructing new protections of 0.4 kV electric networks based on the analysis of information from current sensors have been developed. The methods are based on the analysis of the dependence of the sum of squares of phase currents in time, which is designated as a function of force. In the</span><span lang="EN-US"> steady-state mode</span><span lang="EN-US">, the<span>  </span>analysis<span>  </span>of </span><span lang="EN-US">the force function makes it possible to determine the fact of breaking the neutral wire and the value of the resulting overvoltage. </span><span lang="EN-US">In the transient mode, the nature of the force function makes it possible to determine the value of the power factor of </span><span lang="EN-US">the network. This makes it possible to </span><span lang="EN-US">reliably</span><span lang="EN-US"> identify the starting currents of electric motors and block the tripping of protection when they occur. This solves the problem of protection against currents of remote short circuits and the implementation of the long-range redundancy function.<u> protection </u>is sufficient information only from current sensors, they can be implemented in microprocessor-based circuit breakers together with existing current protections. This significantly increases the reliability of network protection, while </span><span lang="EN-US">additional devices, voltage transformers, power supplies, etc. are not required.</span></p> <p> </p>
