- <p>This document details the use of the Linux Virtual Servers (LVS) kernal patch used in the JWCS (JANET Web Cache Service) pilot LVS service. By allowing us to to finely tune the traffic passing through any server in the cluster, the LVS system helps us to reduce the chance of any single server overloading, and for the effect of any single server failure to prevent a total loss of service.</p>
