Krapovickas et al. 26354</i> (holotype CTES–0000688!)</b>.</p><p>Shrub to ca. 70 cm tall. Stems erect, not branched, glabrous. Leaves with 2 leaflets, petiolate. Leaflets 4–44 × 1–5 mm, linear to orbicular, glabrous. Stipules linear to lanceolate, 5–6 veined. Inflorescences spiciform, terminal, 10 cm long. Bracteoles 10–15 × 5–8 mm, elliptic, 5–8 veined, punctate, glabrous, green. Loment with 4–7 articles; articles 2–3 × 1.5–2 mm, reticulate-veined, bristle-like trichomes 1.5 mm long.</p><p><b>Distribution and habitat:</b> Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay. It occurs in Savanna.</p><p><b>Conservation Status:</b> Vulnerable (VU). <i>Zornia burkartii</i> occurs in a small AOO as compared to the EOO, which increases its vulnerability (EOO= 1,561,277.527 km ²; AOO= 236.000 km ²).</p><p><b>Notes:</b> <i>Zornia burkartii</i> morphologically resembles <i>Zornia reticulata</i>; the distinguishing features between the two species include the position of the spiciform inflorescences (terminal in <i>Z. burkartii vs.</i> axillary in <i>Z. reticulata</i>) and the stem characteristics (erect, not branched in <i>Z. burkartii vs.</i> erect to prostrate, branched in <i>Z. reticulata</i>).</p><p><b>Representative specimens examined:</b> <b>ARGENTINA.
