Leaves with 4 leaflets, petiolate. Leaflets 5–40 × 1–3 mm, linear, pubescent. Stipules ovate, 4–5 veined. Inflorescences spiciform, axillary, 20 cm long. Bracteoles 5–9 × 2.5–4 mm, oblong, 8–10 veined, punctate, glabrous, green. Loment with 3–4 articles; articles 1.5–2 × 1–1.5, not reticulate-veined, bristle-like trichomes absent.</p><p><b>Distribution and habitat:</b> Brazil, endemic. It occurs in sandy soils of the Caatinga vegetation in Tropical Dry Forest.</p><p><b>Conservation Status:</b> Endangered (EN). <i>Zornia harmsiana</i> is considered endangered due to its limited distribution range within the Caatinga in Brazil (EOO= 300,080.950 km ²; AOO= 120.000 km ²).</p><p><b>Notes:</b> This species is easily recognizable by its typically prostrate branches, linear leaflets and oblong bracteoles.</p><p><b>Representative specimens examined:</b> <b>BRAZIL.
