| contents | <p><span>This study explored the reasons and extent to which men and women cheat on their partners on social media. A globalized world, evolving technology, easier access to desires, increased options for men and women, misguided beliefs and ideas, and material comforts have made it more appealing for people to choose different things from their partners. The study revealed that infidelity has increased on social media. Some infidelities have even transcended the digital realm and reached physical dimensions. Men are reportedly more likely to cheat than women. Among the reasons for infidelity are indifference between spouses, lack of communication, lack of respect and love, violence, sexual withdrawal, revenge for infidelity, and a partner's perceived inferiority. Women who cheat are more likely to experience regret than men. However, overall health, fertility, and anxiety are more common among men who cheat. The study is significant because it illuminates the causes and consequences of the rapidly increasing phenomenon of infidelity due to the influence of social media. The aim of this study is to encourage people to be more cautious when using social media, to think more calmly and rationally before attempting infidelity, to resolve problems between partners through communication, and to seek professional support when necessary.</span></p> |
