contents
This project investigates the efficacy of combining bacteriophages with antibiotics to treat Mycobacterium abscessus (MAB), a multidrug-resistant pathogen capable of forming biofilms. MAB biofilms reduce antimicrobial penetration and contribute to persistent lung infections, particularly in vulnerable patient populations. The study evaluates whether phage-antibiotic combinations enhance bacterial eradication compared to single treatments under both planktonic and biofilm conditions.
