•
Ancient medical systems such as Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Unani, and Hippocratic Medicine have long utilized food as a primary tool for preventing and treating illnesses, emphasizing balance and individualized diets. This research paper explores these systems’ dietary practices, their theoretical foundations, and their potential to address health challenges when integrated with modern scientific research. It examines how foods like turmeric, ginger, and mung beans are used to manage conditions such as digestive disorders, inflammation, and chronic diseases, with modern studies validating some of these approaches. While curing all illnesses solely through diet lacks comprehensive evidence, the paper highlights the benefits of combining ancient wisdom with contemporary medicine to enhance health outcomes. Challenges like standardization and cultural adaptation are also addressed, underscoring the need for a balanced, evidence-based approach to food as medicine.
