  • AGRIS is an international information system that, through its special network in the field of agriculture (in the general sense accepted by FAO), receives and disseminates scientific and technological information. Due to its successes in the field of information work, this system is now attracting the attention of information professionals at the international level. Since familiarity with successful information networks and the course of their evolution and their mode of operation at the regional and international levels can be useful for achieving positive results in the formation of our country's information network, and on the other hand, having suitable models plays an effective role in preventing duplication and possible deviations, the author of this article tries to introduce an international information system from various dimensions and to examine the role of Iran and the cooperation of researchers and information centers of the country in this system. In this study, the shortcomings and the various reasons for the weak appearance of Iranian researchers are evaluated, and solutions and suggestions are provided for playing a positive role in the "AGRIS" network and making optimal use of it. The selection of this system (AGRIS) as the subject of the article is due to the importance of the relationship that this network and its field of work have with the issues faced by researchers of the "Ministry of Construction Jihad."
