  • This paper reviews the concept of information architecture and presents a new conceptual model. It describes, through a framework, the necessary items for establishing a virtual achieve to the framework, this paper includes four stages: in the first stage, the concept of virtual university and its necessary items are investigated the second stage is a comparative study of organizational architectur frameworks for setting the conceptual model for the virtual university architecture in the third section, the structure of items of virtual university and its conceptual model are studied and the validity is assessed by a questionnaire Finally, in the the format of the framework (information architecture of virtual university in Iran). The main characteristic of the final framework is a presentation of a comprehensive model for realizing including all of vital aspects and items for establishing an environment for electronic learning with attention to local considerations. The paper concludes that establishing a virtual university in Iran would be feasible in real application.
