  • <p>This research paper conducts a case study to examine the present situation of STEAM<br>(Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) teaching and learning in<br>secondary schools throughout the Southeast area of Vietnam. The research applied a mix-<br>methods design, which includes online and offline surveys to 58 teachers and direct<br>interviews with 30 teachers to collect information on diverse aspects of STEAM teaching and<br>learning at the secondary school level. The survey focused on investigating the procedure of<br>STEAM classes, which includes the frequency of teachers applying STEAM in the classrooms,<br>teaching methods, and subjects covered. The data was collected and analyzed using<br>Pearson’s Chi-square testing to find any significant interrelation between participation and<br>nonparticipation in STEAM teacher training and the application in real situations. The<br>results of interview data were used to code and analyze to build thematic network, revealing<br>teachers’ perspectives about teaching STEAM. The findings crystalised the current situation<br>of STEAM education in Southeast Vietnam and pointed out the strengths and weaknesses of<br>the STEAM implementation procedure. The research gives valuable insights for educators,<br>instructors, and policymakers, providing recommendations for developing the effectiveness of<br>STEAM application at the school level, suggesting some improvements related to teacher<br>training programs, and shaping foreseeable policies in the education field. .<br>Key Words : STEAM education, multi-interdisciplinary teaching, teacher, investigation of<br>teachers’ collaboration, STEAM teacher training.</p>
