| contents | <p><span>The twenty-first century presents both opportunities and challenges for the study and practice of philosophy of religion and theology. In an era marked by globalization, technological advancement, secularism, and religious pluralism, questions about the role of faith, reason, and ultimate reality remain highly relevant. Philosophy of religion provides a rational framework for exploring issues such as the existence of God, the problem of evil, and the coherence of religious belief in the light of scientific and philosophical critiques. Theology, on the other hand, interprets divine revelation, doctrines, and traditions in ways that address the existential concerns of individuals and societies. Both disciplines together engage with pressing issues such as morality, human dignity, social justice, interreligious dialogue, and the quest for peace in conflict-ridden contexts. However, they also face challenges, including increasing skepticism toward religion, the dominance of materialistic worldviews, and the struggle to communicate faith meaningfully in a rapidly changing cultural environment. By critically examining these issues, philosophy of religion and theology can provide intellectual depth, ethical guidance, and a platform for dialogue between diverse worldviews. Their continuing relevance lies in their ability to engage tradition and modernity, reason and faith, and local and global contexts to promote human flourishing in the twenty-first century.</span></p> |
