contents
This article seeks to address the challenge of defining thermal equilibrium covariantly. As a consequence,
the question arises of whether thermodynamics can be approached in a covariant framework.
The article analyses the topic of Relativistic Thermodynamics, focusing on the different points of
view, especially in the problem of ˜ T = γaT and covariant forms of the first law of thermodynamics.
With special referennce to the question of how to define temperature in dynamical spacetime by
studying the response and thermal behaviour of an Unruh-DeWitt detector as it travels through
cosmological spacetimes. Also, through Nakamura’s solution, this article manages to recover all
other cases that had appeared in the covariant formulation of relativistic temperature, including
Planck-Einstein, Ott-Kibble-Molle, Landsberg, and Doppler.
