  • <p><span lang="EN-US">Seizures are critical clinical indicators of neurological disorders, particularly in neonates, but identifying and classifying these seizures can pose significant challenges when based solely on clinical criteria. This study focuses on the incidence and spectrum of seizure disorders among the pediatric population aged 0 to 18 years. We included a total of 125 patients who presented with seizures, gathering comprehensive clinical histories from parents, medical records, and healthcare providers, with an emphasis on neonatal cases and associated peripartum factors. During the study period, our facility admitted 712 children, of which 406 were referred to the pediatric department. Seizures were a primary concern in 138 of these cases, indicating an overall incidence of 17.55% among total admissions and a striking 30.78% among pediatric consultations. Among the analyzed cases, 52.8% were male, with a notably higher incidence in the 0-5 age group. Generalized seizures were identified as the most prevalent type, accounting for 33.6%, closely followed by febrile seizures at 29.6%. We documented a total of 431 medications prescribed, with a notable focus on antiepileptic drugs (49.4%). At discharge, 54 infants and children required monotherapy, while 71 patients benefitted from dual therapy. These findings highlight the necessity for swift anticonvulsant treatment and reinforce the importance of aligning clinical findings with etiology for effective disease management.</span></p>
