A minute, saproxylic, thermophilic species, recorded from all adjacent regions (Lillig 1999; Thomaes <i>et al.</i> 2025). Very rare in the Netherlands (Everts 1903) and Lorraine (Géhin 1846; Fournel & Géhin 1847; Godron 1863) and recorded in Belgium only since the 1990s, it became extinct in northern Germany after the 1950s (Köhler & Klausnitzer 1998) and is considered endangered in Saarland (Lillig 1999). The species appears to be undergoing a southward range contraction, most likely driven exclusively by climatic factors.</p>
