Within the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) framework, ECCE ensures children acquire essential literacy and numeracy skills at an early age. This article discusses the global significance of integrating ECCE with FLN and highlights its positive effects on child development. Findings indicate that children engaged in ECCE programs aligned with FLN show improved literacy and numeracy competencies, enhanced creativity, and better problem-solving skills. Retention rates are higher, dropout rates are lower, and social behaviours are more positive compared to children without ECCE exposure. Globally, integrating ECCE with FLN reduces learning gaps and promotes equity. Countries adopting this model demonstrate progress toward Sustainable Development Goal 4 on inclusive and quality education. The emphasis on play-based learning, language development, and early mathematics within ECCE ensures a strong foundation for lifelong learning. In conclusion, ECCE within the FLN framework is a powerful educational strategy that strengthens foundational skills, promotes equity, and contributes to sustainable outcomes worldwide.</p> |
