Is Brown Envelope Journalism a corruption, motivation, appreciation for reporting and covering news or not? The South Sudan Media Manifestation: An Analysis of media outlets and stakeholders

contents <p><em><span lang="EN-US">The study has raised a question whether Brown Envelope Journalism is a corruption, motivation and appreciation in Reporting and Covering news or not. It obviously that it is corruption since the motivation and appreciation is not provided by the media outlets, it is clear that the journalists are not allowed to receive or accept gifts, bribery or any kind of appreciation and motivation while a journalist is reporting and covering news. Brown Envelope Journalism has been renamed locally in South Sudan by the practitioners of Brown Envelope Journalism as motivation and appreciated or some of the practitioners called it reward for reporting and covering news, the media experts argued that it is a <span> </span>clear violation of journalism and media ethics, professionalism and principles of the media during which is founded in Europe and it continues.<span>  </span>The study revealed that the Brown Envelope Journalism is attributed to numerous factors <span> </span>such as low salaries, lack of advertisement, bad economy, economic hardship, inflation and recession. There are claims that the media in South Sudan is affected by ethnicity, politicization and regionalization due to lack of ideology, lack of pollical parties, nationalism <span> </span>among others. The study is attempting to raise concerns or questions that the South Sudan media stakeholders must work closely, collectively and tirelessly to address the issues of media in the country, in order to safeguard the public interest media must be more effective and efficient to inform the<span>  </span>public. Media is voice of voiceless, therefore, it must be impartial and work for common good, it should be affected by ethnicity, polarization and lack of political will, corruption, unclear policies of how the journalists should be paid.<span>  </span>The study explored the challenges and how the issues of media can be addressed by media stakeholders in South Sudan to improve welfare of Journalists.</span></em></p>
