  • <p><span lang="EN-US">The widespread and sometimes indiscriminate use of chemical pesticides in contemporary agriculture has created a developing challenge: insecticide resistance among important crop pests. This phenomenon has major implications for global food security, crop protection, and agricultural sustainability.<span>  </span>Insecticide resistance occurs when pest populations develop the ability to tolerate lethal dosages of insecticides, owing to genetic, biochemical, and behavioral changes. This article investigates the fundamental mechanisms of resistance, such as metabolic detoxification, target site mutations, decreased penetration, and behavioral avoidance, and their implications for pest control.<span>  </span>It also highlights integrated resistance management tactics such as crop rotation, biological control, the use of biopesticides, and IPM approaches. Strengthening resistance monitoring systems, using new-generation insecticides, and boosting farmer education are all critical elements for delaying resistance development and guaranteeing sustainable pest management in agriculture.</span></p>
