| contents | <p>English Abstract</p> <p>The Return of the King: The Mature Man’s Journey Back to the Womb and Rebirth in Depth-Integrative Psychotherapy</p> <p>This article explores the existential transition from manhood to mature manhood as an inner initiation rather than just a psychological crisis. Drawing on mythic imagery—especially the Parzival legend—and clinical experience, it presents depth-integrative psychotherapy as a contemporary path of transformation where suffering becomes a gateway to renewal. Through the case study of “Peter,” a midlife man confronting loss of direction and identity, the article illustrates how inner death and symbolic return to the “womb” can awaken authenticity, compassion, and inner authority. The therapeutic process is framed not as symptom relief but as a cyclical movement through dissolution and rebirth, mirroring ancient initiation rites and restoring the masculine’s deeper connection to life.</p> <p> </p> <p>Dansk Abstract</p> <p>Kongen vender tilbage: Den modne mands rejse tilbage til livmoderen og genfødsel i dybdeintegrerende psykoterapi</p> <p>Artiklen undersøger overgangen fra mand til moden mand som en indre indvielse snarere end kun en krise. Med afsæt i mytiske billeder – særligt Parsifal-legenden – og en konkret case beskrives dybdeintegrerende psykoterapi som en vej til forvandling, hvor lidelse forstås som fødselsvej til et nyt liv. Gennem fortællingen om “Peter”, en mand i overgangskrise, vises hvordan den symbolske tilbagevenden til livmoderen og mørket kan føre til genfødsel, indre tyngde og ægthed. Terapien forstås ikke som teknik eller symptomlindring, men som en cyklisk proces af død og genfødsel, hvor manden genfinder sin oprindelige forbindelse til livet og det modne maskuline.</p> |
