contents <p><span>The role of immunogenetics in the etiology, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases has become increasingly prominent as advances in molecular biology and genomics have improved our understanding of host and pathogen interactions and the variability of the human immune system. Immunogenetics examines how genetic differences influence immune function, which in turn shapes individual susceptibility to infectious, autoimmune, inflammatory, and neoplastic conditions. Variants in genes that encode cytokines, human leukocyte antigens, pattern recognition receptors, and immune-regulatory molecules can alter the magnitude and quality of immune responses. These inherited differences contribute to variations in disease severity, clinical progression, and long-term outcomes among individuals. In clinical practice, immunogenetic markers have become important tools for improving diagnostic precision. HLA typing, cytokine gene polymorphism profiling, and the identification of genetic variants in innate and adaptive immune pathways provide opportunities to distinguish disease subtypes, predict complications, and refine prognostic assessments. These markers also assist in the early identification of individuals who are at increased risk of developing immune-mediated disorders. Therapeutically, immunogenetics supports the development of personalized medicine. Genetic insights help guide the selection of targeted immunotherapies, predict treatment response, and reduce the likelihood of adverse effects. Examples include tailoring biologic therapies for autoimmune diseases based on cytokine pathway polymorphisms, adjusting vaccine strategies according to HLA profiles, and improving cancer immunotherapy by incorporating tumor and host immune interaction signatures. Understanding immunogenetic determinants also contributes to the creation of new therapeutic agents designed to modulate specific immune pathways. Overall, immunogenetics provides a comprehensive framework that links genetic variability with immune function and contributes significantly to etiological understanding, precise diagnosis, and individualized treatment strategies for a wide range of human diseases.</span></p>
