-
Land Surface Temperature (LST) dataset for São Paulo, Brazil, derived from Landsat 8 Collection 2 Level-2 surface temperature product provided by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). It is 30 m spatial resolution for the peak summer season (December 2024 – February 2025). The dataset captures spatial variations in urban surface temperature during the hottest months of the year and is intended to support research on urban heat islands, climate vulnerability, environmental justice, urban planning, and heat-related risk assessment.

The LST data were processed from thermal infrared bands of Landsat 8 satellite imagery using remote sensing and GIS-based analytical methods. Pre-processing steps were performed for the conversion of thermal band data into land surface temperature values. The resulting raster dataset provides high-resolution temperature information suitable for spatial analysis at metropolitan and neighborhood scales across São Paulo.

This dataset can be used for studies related to urban climate, heat exposure, land cover dynamics, precarious settlements, public health, and climate adaptation planning. The data are provided in geospatial raster format and are compatible with common GIS and remote sensing software platforms
