contents <p>This dataset contains anonymized responses from 403 parents/caregivers of children aged 0–12 years, including 198 participants from the USA and 205 participants from Uzbekistan. The survey assessed parental knowledge, preventive behaviors, and oral health practices related to children.</p> <p>The study explores feeding practices, toothbrushing habits, fluoride awareness, dental insurance, and parental exposure to dental health education, allowing for cross-cultural comparison between the USA and Uzbekistan.</p> <p>Dataset file includes the following variables:</p> <ul> <li>Sociodemographic information,</li> <li>Parental exposure to dental education at school, </li> <li>Feeding practices, </li> <li>Parental and Child oral hygiene habits, </li> <li>Fluoride awareness, </li> <li>Use of additional oral hygiene products, </li> <li>Awareness of dental plaque and gum disease, </li> <li>Dental attendance, </li> <li>School-based oral health promotion</li> </ul> <p>Dataset File:</p> <ul> <li>Parental awareness data.xlsx</li> </ul> <p>File is fully anonymized and contain no personally identifying information.</p> <p>The full 27-item parental awareness questionnaire is provided as a PDF file:</p> <ul> <li>Parental awareness Survey.pdf  </li> </ul> <p>It was available in three languages, English, Uzbek and Russian, to ensure accessibility for both study groups.</p> <p>Participants were informed about the study’s purpose at the beginning of the questionnaire.<br>Completion of the survey was considered as providing informed consent.</p> <p>This dataset supports research in pediatric dentistry, public health and preventive dentistry, parental knowledge and behavior analysis, cross-cultural oral health studies, oral health education effectiveness, meta-analyses on child oral hygiene practices. It is suitable for academic research, educational projects, public health program development, and meta-analysis on parental awareness of pediatric oral health.</p>
