contents This paper explores the intricate relationship between astronomical alignment and standardized metrology in the urban planning and monumental architecture of two prominent ancient Mesoamerican cities: Teotihuacan and Monte Albán. Despite their distinct cultural trajectories and geographical separation, both civilizations demonstrate remarkable precision in integrating celestial observations and fixed units of measurement into their built environments. We investigate the specific orientations of major structures, such as the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon in Teotihuacan and Building J in Monte Albán, correlating them with significant solar, lunar, and stellar events. Concurrently, we analyze the evidence for the use of consistent linear measurement units in the layout and construction of these sites. Through a comparative archaeoastronomical and metrological analysis, this study identifies both shared principles and unique expressions of cosmic order and mathematical precision. The findings suggest that while direct diffusion of specific building codes may have been limited, a convergent evolution of sophisticated cosmological and engineering knowledge shaped the urban landscapes of these powerful pre-Columbian centers, reflecting a shared Mesoamerican worldview that intertwined space, time, and the sacred.
