| contents | <p>The workforce of today is facing unprecedented transformations in the nature of work. As a result of the <br>changing business landscape, the employees are expected to adapt to the new work methods at a rapid <br>pace. Furthermore, the transition to the desired future, has been accelerated by various factors. At present, <br>the pandemic has forced businesses to invest in advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, <br>robotics, cloud computing, and data analytics. <br>Consequently, there has been an imperative shift in the adoption of technology, in every sector,across the <br>globe to suit the culture of remote working. While the employees are stepping into this new-age <br>technology, acquiring skills to work in collaboration with the advanced machines forms an intrinsic part <br>of the organizations’ overall improvement. With the advent of pandemic,there have been massive skill<br>shifts. When the employees look ahead, there is an evident change in their perception of up-skilling and <br>reskilling – a valued opportunity to a crucial step in remaining employable. In an era of constant changes; <br>continuous learning, redeployment and redefinition will form an integral part of the new workplace. This <br>study thereby, aims to identify the significant causes for the major transitions in the workforce and the <br>essential skills required to thrive in the future. The study is qualitative in nature and secondary data was <br>used,to gather multiple perspectives of the executives and researchers. </p> |
