contents <p>Cosmological redshift, fundamental to modern cosmology, has been primarily described using geometric optics. We present a complete wave treatment of electromagnetic propagation in FLRW spacetime. Solving Maxwell's equations covariantly, we derive an exact wave equation incorporating both redshift and wave damping. The derivation naturally yields wave damping emerging from spacetime geometry through Christoffel symbols. Our formulation demonstrates mathematical consistency between general relativity and electrodynamics, provides a wave-theoretic foundation for redshift, and offers insights into cosmic energy loss. This work advances theoretical understanding of light propagation and enables more accurate modeling across cosmic distances.</p>
