| contents | <p>Montenegro’s Medium (MM) is a simple serum free, low cost axenic medium for routine culture of Naegleria fowleri. This preprint describes the composition of MM, its preparation, and a set of experiments comparing growth, passage timing, and stability against a standard DMEM + 10% FBS medium. We show that MM supports robust trophozoite growth, maintains doubling times within the published clinical range, and remains usable after storage. MM is a practical option for laboratories that culture N. fowleri and need an affordable, reproducible medium.</p> |
