contents <p>This paper identifies "inginburei" (慇懃無礼)—weaponized politeness as cultural violence—in Japanese AI interactions. This Japanese-specific phenomenon, where polite language becomes attack through action refusal, has no adequate English translation, causing developers to miss severe UX problems.</p> <p>We demonstrate how over-safety mechanisms create defensive responses that Japanese users recognize as inginburei, triggering a fatal feedback loop where victims are labeled as aggressors.
