contents
This study investigates the influence of distribution channel efficiency on customer satisfaction in Nigeria’s petroleum marketing sector through a quantitative research approach. As distribution channels play a critical role in ensuring timely delivery and availability of petroleum products, their effectiveness directly impacts customer perceptions and satisfaction levels. The research employed structured questionnaires administered to customers and managers across selected petroleum retail outlets in Nigeria. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques, including simple regression analysis, to determine the influence of distribution efficiency indicators—such as delivery lead time, transport and logistics cost —on customer satisfaction. The findings reveal a significant influence of distribution channel efficiency on customer satisfaction, emphasizing the need for petroleum marketers to streamline supply chain operations. The study concludes by recommending the implementation of predictive analytics and digital inventory systems to anticipate demand and schedule deliveries to avoid stock out
