This paper examines the challenges of modern farming in the post-Green Revolution era, including soil degradation, biodiversity loss, and unsustainable practices, and emphasizes the need for sustainable agriculture. It highlights India's position as the second-largest producer of vegetables and the critical role of optimal vegetable growth in driving national economic progress. A proposed Unified Command Structure for the national distribution of vegetables and fruits, integrated with multipurpose, multilevel warehousing, aims to transform supply chain management by minimizing waste, stabilizing prices, ensuring year-round availability, and improving farmers' livelihoods. Modern warehousing standards, temperature-controlled storage, and efficient logistics are examined to enhance shelf life, mitigate inflationary pressures, and support inclusive growth by improving resource utilization and integrating technology.</span></p> |
