contents
Contemporary physics is characterized by the coexistence of multiple highly successful theories, each valid within well-defined but often implicit domains. Despite their empirical success, the boundaries where approximations fail or where degrees of freedom change are rarely treated in a unified and explicit manner.

This record presents the Atlas of Physical Theories, a closed methodological framework designed to map domains of validity and inter-theory transitions without proposing new physical laws or ontologies. The Atlas formalizes a small set of transition mechanisms (T1–T5), distinguishes pragmatic breakdowns from genuine theory change, and introduces standardized Patch Cards to represent theories as nodes in a directed graph.

An operational diagnostic for the status of temporal observables (“Clockability”) is included as part of the regime-validity analysis, without advancing a theory of time. The Atlas is intended as a tool for conceptual hygiene, comparative analysis, and disciplined exploration of theory boundaries in modern physics.
