By focusing on reaction latencies, affective appraisal, and decision thresholds, this work introduces timing-based constraints that any viable theory of consciousness must satisfy. The framework is intentionally substrate-agnostic, aiming to bridge cognitive science, neuroscience, and philosophy of mind while offering testable benchmarks for distinguishing reflexive processing from conscious awareness.</p> |
