| contents | <p>The aim of this study is to examine the place and importance of Gabriel Marcel's themes of love and death in philosophical counselling and to examine their usability in therapy sessions. This field, which needs to be studied as a new research area in Turkey, aims to increase awareness of existential problems and to contribute to finding the meaning of one's life through one's own inner dynamics. In essence, philosophical counselling deals with existential, meta-philosophical problems and tries to prevent individuals from wrong thinking in the field of life and to ensure that they remember the wisdom within them. The person is first subjected to a deep questioning and reflexive process. At this point, examining themes such as love and death in the concrete philosophy of Gabriel Marcel, who is in the existentialist perspective, which includes subjective experiences, contributes to the field. Marcel's centring on human experiences as embodied beings enables the person to take a step towards discovering his/her existence; love enables him/her to connect himself/herself to life, to participate in his/her environment and his/her inner world, and to cope with existential problems with the acceptance that the phenomenon of death is beyond physicality. Thus, while turning one's face to the world, one can also take steps towards reaching the Secret of Being. A person who succeeds in becoming his own philosopher can channelise into life in a healthy way.</p> |
