  • <p>Three fundamental puzzles have resisted unified explanation: Why does time have an arrow? Why does space have three dimensions? What is the origin of dark matter? Here I show that all three share a common dynamical origin: primordial irreversibility that precedes the existence of spacetime itself.</p> <p>Within a non-equilibrium framework where gradient crystallizes into geometry, spatial dimensionality D = 3 emerges as the unique stable integer realization through scale-independent balance of competing timescales—with no adjustable parameters. The framework derives the CMB spectral index n_s ≈ 0.968 (consistent with Planck 2018) and the Fisher information ratio I₁/I₂ = 5.67, both parameter-free. Verlinde's entropic gravity emerges as a thermal equilibrium limit.</p> <p>The framework is pre-geometric and does not assume quantum spacetime structure at the Planck scale. It addresses foundational questions while yielding testable observational signatures.</p>
